The car in the pictures is what the next compact performance car from Subaru could look like. At a first glance, the Viziv performance concept looks more like a modified current generation WRX but upon closer inspection, there are many unique styling cues that are far more than simple modification.
I will risk saying that this concept is quite attractive and that Subaru needs to keep the production version as close to this car as possible. I say risk because Subaru has a terrible history of creating jaw-dropping concepts only to finally launch a watered-down semi-bland mass production car.
The Viziv Performance concept sports all the necessary goodies including a subtle yet present hood-scoop. The wheel arches are adorned with choppy blistered aerofin flares that seem out of place at first but quickly fit the part.
Subaru’s incorporated many more aerodynamic features including perforated air outlets behind the front and rear wheel arches. The rear fender flares are sublime with their boxed-out shape above which sits a tapered trunk lid. Both front and rear fascia include heavy visual cues of air-inlets, diffusers and the likes.
There is no way to describe this car as a work of art however the concept’s low, wide and forward leaning stance, large wheels and quad angled tailpipes are perfect for this car’s target market.
Please Subaru, just add door handles and wing mirrors and keep the remainder as is. Thanks.
