Unveiled today at Auto Shanghai 2017, the I.D. Crozz is a new SUV concept from Volkswagen which features 480 kilometers of range. This is Volkswagen’s third prototype bearing the I.D. nameplate to be unveiled in recent months.
The first was a sedan while the second was a microvan that could have passed as a new generation of the legendary Westfalia. As for the I.D. Crozz, we are talking about a sport utility vehicle powered by two electric motors located at the front and rear of the vehicle with a total power out of 302 horsepower. The engines are fed by an 82 kWh battery that can get 80 % of its charge back in just 30 minutes.
I.D. Crozz is the latest part of Volkswagen’s EV-focused strategy that aims to sell 1 million electric vehicles a year by 2025. The production version of the I.D. Crozz will be unveiled in 2020 according to the German manufacturer.
