Introduced on the North American market in 2013, the Ford C-Max is about to retire. Offered only in hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions, the C-Max is about to drive off into the sunset. Production of the Energi plug-in version has already stopped, while the hybrid model will be taken off the production line within a few months.
The Ford C-Max did manage to stand out for a few years thanks to its fairly dynamic drive and interesting versatility, but sales figures never got close to those of the Toyota Prius, its direct competition.
The C-Max will eventually be replaced by another range of Ford hybrid vehicles which will go toe-to-toe, hopefully with more success, with the Prius as well as new hybrids recently introduced including the Kia Niro and Hyundai Ioniq.
