Winter driving: the importance of having a survival kit

Winter is unpredictable, and if we want to avoid finding ourselves stranded and unprepared, it is essential to take some precautions. We must ensure that our vehicle is ready for winter, but it is also very important that we are prepared to face it and above all that we will be ok if we are caught somewhere and have to wait for help.

It is therefore important to have a survival kit our vehicle. Here’s what this package has to have:

– A shovel along with sand or salt if your vehicle is stuck.

– Water and non-perishable food if you have to wait several hours before help arrives.

– Warm clothes, again if you will be in the cold for a while. Make sure you have a hat, gloves, jackets and coats as well as socks, boots and snow pants.

– A cellphone charger. You can use the USB port in your vehicle to charge your cellphone and call for help.

– Cat litter which can be very useful to help get more traction.

– Flares or other distress devices to warn other motorists of your presence.

– Booster cables if your battery needs a charge
