Because let’s be clear here, an engine is very expensive to repair. So, here are a few tips from Pye Chevrolet that will help you protect your engine.

How you drive will have a major impact on your engine. Your engine’s redline serves as a guide. The closer you get to that line and the more often you get to that line, the more you are pushing your engine and the greater chance you have of damaging your engine. Therefore, make sure you use the highest gear possible when driving on the highway or around the city, and do not accelerate vigorously for no reason.

Secondly, make sure you get your vehicle serviced at the prescribed intervals. Servicing your engine means that you always have quality oil, your fluids are topped off, your engine coolant tank is full and your air filter is clean. Next, you want to make sure you address any warning lights in your dashboard and ensure that if you hear a weird noise or you feel your engine is not performing the way it should, you get it checked out quickly.

Finally, try to fill up your gas tank before it gets too low. This will avoid having to use the fuel at the bottom of the tank where sediments have accumulated over time.
